Mr James 10/12/2016 Beeville-tx looking for a sizing chart, I'm a street shoe 10W
Thank you for contacting us. We have a suggested fitting guide by the description of the item under the sizing tab. - DDS Customer Service (10/18/2016)
thedancer 01/20/2016 Maryland, Usa Age: 17 or under Are the elastics pre-sewn?
I would prefer not to sew elastics on
This shoe has the elastics attached at the heel, but not fully sewn over the arch of the foot. The dancer is able to attach then at the desired location. - DDS Customer Service (01/28/2016)
I've noticed when other girls have gotten these from dance stores, they always come with a sansha mesh bag to carry them in. Does Discount Dance Supply provide that?
The S1C ballet slipper no longer comes with a mesh bag. - DDS Customer Service (08/04/2014)
No. Sansha used to package a mesh bag with the shoes, but they no longet do. Dancewear stores are notorious for hanging onto outdated merchandise, so they probably got shoes from a shipment from a few years ago if they got a mesh bag. - Jcupp01 (09/07/2014)
Unfortunately the slippers don't come with mesh back, i too notice that if i purchase from the store nearby i get a mesh back. - Stan (09/11/2014)
No, unfortunately they do not. It would be nice though! - Seblir (09/20/2014)
They don't, just a plastic bag. - Juliaf (03/12/2015)
My son wears a children size 4. I am not sure how to figure out what size to order for him. Can you
If he is a children's size 4, that is equivalent to a women's size 6. A women's size 6 is a Sansha size 7. Though we cannot guarantee sizing, that would be the best recommendation. - DDS Customer Service (08/27/2013)
They run two sizes smaller some students in my class that wear a 6 wear an 8 in the #1pro - Brooklyn (11/20/2013)
I ordered the next size for my son. The fit was perfect. - Sonnymom (06/20/2014)
I would go with adult size 6. For children's sizes, go up about 2 sizes. If he wears mens street shoes, go up 3 to 4 sizes for the best fit. - Jcupp01 (09/07/2014)
i would go to a dance store nearby your home...get him fitted and have a 1/4 of an inch for room to grow in the slipper. He might wear around a 3 there are no 1/2 sizes in Sansha. Just a guess. When your son is much older (16+) then you/they do not want any extra room...you want them to fit snugly like a glove. At the youndger ages, most teachers allow for alittle growth...otherwise you will be buying new shoes every several months.
All the best to your son dancing! We have 2 sons who dance and one daughter. Take care. - Lavinia (10/19/2014)
They have a size chart on there which shows what "Sansha" size to order (compared to regular shoe size). - Piwi (11/12/2014)
SabrinaLieu 05/23/2013 Seattle, Wa Age: 17 or under Sizing?
I ordered a Sansha 9 and I'm a 7.5 in womens, and they're too big. If I get a Sansha 8, will they be too small?
If you go down to a size 8 you're looking to lose about 1/2 an inch of room. - DDS Customer Service (05/25/2013)
I wear a women's 9 in street shoes and it recommends a 10 in these slippers, in my opinion they are a little too small. It was my first time ordering this style, so next time I will go up a size to an 11 in the slippers. In reading other reveiws of this product online, I have found that running small seems to be a common issue with this style. - Fatballerina (07/10/2013)
If the 9 is too big, your only option in this shoe is to get an 8. There are no half sizes. I think the 8 would be ok, especially if you like a tight professional fit for your shoes. You could try an 8 W if your foot is a medium to wider width. If you order the 8 and it feels just a tad too small, wet the end of the toes using a spray bottle of water, then walk around to stretch them out. - Jcupp01 (09/07/2014)
They recommend to go 1.5 or 2 sizes larger than your street shoe. You don't want the shoes to squeeze the life out of your foot so having a little wiggle room is good, but if they are Gappy after being tied and tightened then I'd definitely try to go a half size smaller. Good Luck. - Seblir (09/20/2014)
They will be a much better fit! You might even want to try a 7. I wear a women's 9 street shoe, and I wear a 9N in Sanshas. I can also comfortably wear an 8M or 8W. - Kdancer (03/05/2015)
I am 7.5 and it recommends size 9 is the chart right?
That is correct that is the suggested fitting for a adult size 7.5 street shoe - DDS Customer Service (12/26/2012)
No. Go whatever the next size down is. I got what the chart said and it bunches in the arch and the toe. However, if you want to wear them for a long time, go with the size 9. Hope this helped :) - Tinydancer500 (01/01/2013)
The sizing is WAY OFF. I am a size 8 1/2 for shoes and I ended up ordering the ballet shoe in size 13 just to get some room for my toes to have some space, so I went up about 3 sizes from what the chart online says. - Prettyinpink (01/11/2013)
Go for a size 8M or 8N I am between size 7.5 and 8 women's with a narrowish foot and I get 8N - Iloveleotards (03/10/2013)
These response vary greatly. I personally went into the Sansha store in NYC and got them measured. The sales lady went straight for 2 sizes up (Size 10) but when I tried it on, it was baggy near the toes and arch.
I'm a street shoe size 8 and Size 9N fit best. I have narrow feet so the N or Medium could work. I'd suggest going 1 size up so yes get a 9. - Juana (03/17/2013)
It does recommend a 9. If you are worried about it being too big, you may try a 9 narrow. If you like your shoes super tight, go for an 8 in a medium or wide. - Jcupp01 (09/07/2014)
Christy16 12/06/2012 Age: 17 or under Are these shoes good for narrow feet?
This style comes is a narrow width, so you may want to order the narrow width. - DDS Customer Service (12/07/2012)
I have wide toes, and I order the ballet shoe in medium and it fits my foot fine. If you have narrow feet the medium will fit you fine. - Prettyinpink (01/11/2013)
Yes! Just get the N width on a size just up from your regular shoe size (I am 7.5/8 and wear 8N) - Iloveleotards (03/10/2013)
They are ok for narrow feet if you order the proper size. Be sure to order a narrow width. If you like a tight professional fit, you can also order a size smalker than recommend in the size chart. - Jcupp01 (09/07/2014)
Anna2 10/25/2012 Baltimore, Md Age: 17 or under Did the sizing change for this shoe?
I bought this shoe about a year ago, in size 6 wide. I'm a 6 1/2. (Maybe I wasn't looking at the size chart? I thought I did. though.) They were slightly too tight but not too bad. They got shrunken in the dryer and now are too tight to wear comfortably. I was going to buy another pair, but now the size chart suggests I buy a size 8. Based on the fit of size 6 I would buy a size 7. Did the sizes change? Or did I really buy 2 sizes too small?
The Sizing for this item has not changed. Please see the size chart for sizing information. Suggested for a 6 1/2 is a size 8. - DDS Customer Service (10/26/2012)
I am size 7.5 and buy an 8N. Basically I would go up a size and maybe down a width when in half sizes. For example for 6.2 I would get 7M unless your feet are super super wide. The widths often work to even out sizing, hope this helps. - Iloveleotards (03/10/2013)
The problem is that these shoes only come in whole sizes. The size chart says for half sizes to order up. In general, you should order 1 size up from street size. If you like a tight fit, go for the 7. If you like more room, go for the 8, but you may try medium width. - Jcupp01 (09/07/2014)
The elastics come attached at the heel and you would criss cross over your arch and attach at each side below the drawstring casing. - DDS Customer Service (10/15/2012)
Since the strap ends aren't secured when the slippers are new, you'll need to either sew them in place yourself or have them sewn by someone. Some people just tie the ends together, but that doesn't look very nice. I found, though, that once I found my perfect slipper size, I didn't need the elastic straps at all, so I removed them. You may discover the same thing! :-) - Rick (10/22/2012)
Natalie 09/29/2012 Age: 17 or under Do you need training to wear these shoes?
I'm looking for ballet shoes to wear as part of a Halloween costume. I don't have any dancing experience, so I'm wondering if these would be safe to wear.
This ballet slipper would be fine for a costume, no experience necessary, however you may want to consider a full sole ballet slipper, like the Capezio Daisy Style 205 depending on where you will be wearing them, ex outside or inside. You may also call customer service @ 1-800-470-1664 for further assistance. - DDS Customer Service (10/01/2012)
If you're planning to buy a pair of soft canvas or leather ballet slippers, not satin pointe shoes, you won't need any time or training to get used to them -- they're as comfortable as bedroom slippers if you get the right size for your feet. If you're considering pointe shoes, though, that's another story -- pointe shoes definitely take some getting used to! If you'll be wearing your ballet slippers outside, just bear in mind that they don't offer your feet much protection or padding, so try to avoid walking in them in wet or rough conditions. Walking across a stone parking lot could prove pretty painful! Hope this information helps, and Happy Halloween! :-) - Rick (10/22/2012)
For a costume, i would just go to a payless or something and buy a pair of shoes because they are cheaper and have thicker soles, so they are better as street shoes. And point shoes are somewhat difficult to get used to if you have not had training. So if you want to pay for the traditional ones, get these, otherwise go to a regular shoe store - Katelynn (05/27/2013)
Of course you can wear them! However, it might be better to purchase more supportive shoes for traipsing around ;) - Littlemissballerina1501 (03/09/2014)
These are totally safe to wear. These are just flat ballet shoes. It's pointe shoes that you have to worry about training and safety. These shoes fit kind of like slippers or socks, so you may need to get used to how they feel before wearing them out in public. They feel very different from street shoes. Remember to order 1 size up for women and 3to 4 sizes up for men. - Jcupp01 (09/07/2014)
The size chart for this item, can be found by clicking on the sizing tab, below the ADD TO CART and CHECK INVENTORY BUTTONS on the item page. - DDS Customer Service (09/27/2012)
