These are placed between the first two toes to align the big toe with the big toe joint to aid in the treatment and prevention of bunions. - DDS Customer Service (07/10/2014)
The larger pieces are meant to be placed between the big toe and second toe, where the strap of a flip flop sandal would go. The thinner pieces can be placed anywhere that your toenail from one toe cuts into the next toe, to prevent this from happening. Because you're new to pointe, I wouldn't recommend using these unless your teacher has suggested them. They change the way your shoes feel and how they fit, so I wouldn't mess with them until you're a bit more experienced. - Dancerachel (07/17/2014)
