Should I get petite like the chart and some reviews say, or go a size up like other reviews say?
Based on your measurements, you would fit in the size Petite, however it is a cotton blend leotard and may shrink a bit when washed. Therefore, I would recommend going up a size to a Small. - DDS Customer Service (01/03/2014)
The leotard is designed to stay on your shoulders, however depending on your body it may slip off of the shoulder area. - DDS Customer Service (10/22/2013)
I have this leo and it doesn't slip off the shoulders. - Balletonpointe (04/14/2014)
Sometimes it can slip off your shoulders, but I hike mine up a little higher and it stays. Usually it'll only slip if I hunch over, which is a great posture reminder! :P - Ballerinahipster (05/26/2014)
Anna2 08/26/2013 Baltimore, Md Age: 17 or under What does the "navy" color look like?
In my experience navy leotards are very dark blue. On my computer screen the swatch reads bright purple.
You can see an actual picture of the navy on Bloch's website, shown here > http://www.blochworld.com/product/ballon. - DDS Customer Service (08/27/2013)
It's dark blue, but this particular leotard's 'navy' looks a bit faded/muted than a dark nautical navy blue, even when new. It's not necessarily bad, but just be aware in case that's not what you're looking for.
I would definitely not say it's "bright purple" in color, though - Debc (09/07/2013)
DancingSquirrel15 11/08/2012 Maryland Age: 17 or under Sizing question?
What's your advice for when you can't decide which size to get? I'm either an extra small or a small. My girth and hips are in the "extra small sizing" but my waist is in the "small" sizing. I usually buy size small leotards but I'm afraid of the leg lines being loose or not as high as they are intended to be if it's a bit big.
If more of your measurements are in the XS range, you may want to order the XS, however the best option would be to order both sizes and sent back the one that doesn't fit. - DDS Customer Service (11/09/2012)
I would say to go with whatever would fit your girth/hips better. Usually the waist is not a huge deal if it is a couple of inches off since the fabric is stretchy, but having a leotard that is too short or tight around the butt/hips is super uncomfortable and not fun to dance in. :( And of course, if whatever size you buy doesn't end up working, you can always return it. (: - Erinh (01/05/2013)
I say go for the small. I had a similar problem where one part of my body was bigger than the rest and I went for the bigger size. I had no problem, the rest of the leotard formed well with the rest of my body. - Maedance24 (08/15/2013)
When choosing between sizes, go larger for this leotard. It runs a little small and the fabric is very stretchy. - Laurenl (11/08/2013)
