TA 10/16/2024 Cherry Hill-nj please explain x shoe widths
The 1X is the narrowest and then each additional X adds width to the box area of the shoe. If this is the first time wearing this brand or style of pointe shoe we strongly recommended being fitted professionally for best fit. - DDS Customer Service (11/08/2024)
sara 07/03/2018 Ashland City-tn Age: 30 to 39 What size would be best?
I need help picking out the right size for this shoe. My foot is 24.4 cm long. I wear size 7.5 in street shoe. What size do you recommend?do you have other colors also? Thanks
We have a Suggested Fitting of: Women order 2-3 sizes smaller than street size. This information is shown as a guide only and not a guarantee.
Actual fitting may vary. This item only comes in the color shown. - DDS Customer Service (07/06/2018)
I wear a size 8 in normal street shoes. I have used the dramatica II in size 7 X1. What size should I get in these points shoes. I was thinking since it's the same brand it would be the same size.
We always recommend that dancers follow the sizing guide provided on the product page online. Refer to the tab titled Sizing, and it will provide you with what you need to accurately fit your new dancewear. - DDS Customer Service (03/11/2016)
Does this shoe come with ribbons and elastics, or do I have to buy those speparatly? Thanks!
Ribbon and elastic are not included. - DDS Customer Service (03/18/2015)
Hi Julia! When I bought my pointe shoes at a local dance store, they gave me ribbons and I had to buy elastics. When you buy them online, they usually never come with either because you sew them on according to what feels ight to your feet and where you want them placed. If you buy or bought them, you will see that you will just have the pointe shoe itself and it is your job to buy and apply elastics and ribbons. I really hope I helped<3 - Leilak123 (07/09/2015)
bunhead99 08/06/2014 Age: 17 or under What other shoes are like this?
I've only ever had these shoes and I was wondering what other shoes might be recommended. I've tried being fitted for other shoes but my local dance store only has Bloch, Capezio (which I hate), Freed, and I think Suffolk.
I would recommend trying the ELITE pointe shoe by Grishko. They have very similar characteristics to the Balance European. The shank may be a bit stronger, but it should fit very similarly. - DDS Customer Service (08/06/2014)
I would recommend Balance European if you have bunions or wide feet - Genevievel (07/13/2015)
Bloch balance European and tendu II, which gets on pointe easier and giving support better?
The support and how easy it is to get on pointe really depends on how strong your feet are and what shank you order because different shanks ( medium shank, hard shank, hard flexible ) give different results. You really need to try both to figure out what works best for you and your feet since everyones are different. - Dancingfever (01/04/2016)
Sizing 09/27/2013 Brandon, Florida Age: 35 to 44 After I choose a size, what does the X1, X2, X3 etc choice stand for?
That would be for the width of the shoe. - DDS Customer Service (09/30/2013)
That is the width of the shoe. Example: I order a 4XXX because I have short, wide feet. The more "X" the wider the box. - Laesmerelda (12/05/2013)
These represent the different widths available (pertaining to the box part of the shoe). The more X's, the wider the box. Generally, X1 is for narrow feet, X2 for narrow/medium feet, X3 for medium/wide feet, and X4 for wide feet. The best way to determine the needed width is to get the shoes sized by a professional. - Acrojazzarina (12/27/2013)
dancer9 03/19/2013 Age: 17 or under Should I get the European balance pointe shoe or the European balance with a harder shank?
My first pair of pointe shoes was European balance. I broke it in in about 2 1/2 - 3 months. For my next pair I was wondering whether I should get the balance European or balance European hard shank. (I have a foot arch and the European balance shoes look great And fit great on my feet)
Typically point shoes are suppose to last 6-8 hours on pointe. The hardness of the shank would not make the pointe shoe last longer, it's just your personal preference which shank you prefer. - DDS Customer Service (03/21/2013)
If it took you 2 1/2 to break in those i believe you should not get a harder shank, the reason being as your feet get used to pointe shoes you should not get a really hard shank, i have the hardest shanks in these shoes and i can break them within 2 weeks so until your shoes are dying every month dont get a harder shank - Pointedancer2011 (08/03/2013)
Cintli 11/22/2012 National City Age: 18 to 24 If I use 7.5 in normal sizes.. What size will I be here?

I wear a 8.5 street and a 6.5 in the european balance. I have very wide feet and even length toes(squarish feet). I also had tried a size 6 but they were too short. I would go with a size 5.5 if I were you. - Dewdrop (12/03/2012)
probably a 4xx check and get them fitted though - Hgballet2012 (12/11/2012)
IM 7.5 street shoe size, 5.5 pointe shoe size. - Danceobsession (12/27/2012)
I'm an 8.5 street shoes and a 6.5 in these so you will probably be a 5.5 - Lilys (02/18/2013)
I am a 7.5 regular in street shoes (example, Born, Cole Haan). I wear a 5xxx Bloch European Balance. I have a "Giselle" foot with short toes, narrow heel, and high arch. - Tightsup (02/19/2013)
I am a 7 and have a wide foot. I used a 6 4x. I would not recommend buying shoes online unless you have been fitted though. - Snowdancer (03/05/2013)
I also wear 7.5 and I wear a 5.5 in these shoes. I would recommend getting fitted first if possible. - 123456 (03/30/2013)
rbgedancer 11/03/2012 Age: 17 or under What are better Balance European or Balance European hard shank?
I have been on pointe for over a year and my first poitne shoes have been broken in all the way:( I have a very high arch and i was just wondering what shoes was better the Balance European or the Balance European hard shank? If there is a different type of pointe shoe that would better fit/help my archs could you please recomend them to me:) (i also have wide feet:) Thanks!
Our suggestion would be to first ask your instructor if a hard shank would be suitable for you and also having the shoe professionally fitted if possible. - DDS Customer Service (11/05/2012)
I wear European Balances, and I have a X3 shank. If I had any less it probably wouldn't last me 2 weeks. My friend has high arches and she wears Capulets. They are more expensive, but I know she loves them...I don't think they are a beginner shoe, but you could always ask someone where you get fit. If you haven't had a professional fitting I highly suggest it. - Thatgirlwithfreckles (11/08/2012)
I have very high arches and weak ankles so these help me balance a lot more. I suggest you go and get it fitted because you don't want hurt yourself. - Pointeshoe (12/18/2012)
My feet are vey similar to yours:-) I would go with the harder shank, and bend them lightly in the arch if they are not hugging it very well. Just a warning, but these break in very fast so I would also highly recommend the Mirellas. Good luck! - Balletlover400 (09/22/2013)
