It's a hard rubber. I like the shoe a lot, but don't think it would be a good choice for ballroom. - Sionan (07/14/2014)
The sole is not suede. It appears to be a synthetic compound of mostly rubber. It does slide easily w/little resistance. The slightly raised heel does shift the weight forward to the ball of the foot. - Streetcop (06/05/2015)
