Natalie's new platter tutu features six layers of permanently pleated net and wiring to create its graceful shape. The cotton/spandex waistband has hook and eye closures. I bought this for my daughter who is rehearsing Sugar Plum. After the first few rehearsals, it started sagging and no amount of starch could bring it back. It droops down over the wire and looks pretty sad. I wound up buying another one without a wire and it is holding up much better. I would not recommend this product

BEAUTIFUL PLATTER TUTU THAT CAN BE USED FOR YEARS TO COME!
While I love this platter tutu and have ordered 6 this fall alone, I've had quality issues with three of the six. One was clearly a quality control problem from the manufacturer, the hoop of the tutu was shaped like a capital D rather than a circle. My second shipment had two tutu's shipped in one box and three in another. In the box that contained three, two of the tutu's were damaged (in my opinion by being stuffed in the box together). The tule was damaged and on both the top and underside of each tutus. I will be reordering, but what should have been so simple has resulted in multiple returns.

RUNS LARGE
I am an adult, 5ft. 7in. tall, size 6, and usually order a size large in leotards. I ordered a large in this tutu and it was swimming on me. This tutu does have a hoop in it and lays flat, the tulle is nice and stiff. The platter itself is fairly thin, but not to the point you can see through it.

WASTE OF MONEY
I bought 2 platter tutus for both my girls. At first they were beautiful!!! After about 4 months the wire began to bend and the top layer drooped down. I tried starching but the top layer wouldn't stay up anymore and it drooped over the hoop making it look terrible. My girls hate the look so now I need to spend more money buying a different type of practice platter tutu. I would never buy this again

FINE, NOT GOOD OR BAD
The tutu is floppy and does not look like the pictures. you will need to tack it together and use spray starch, possibly wire. comes wrinkled.

I LOVE IT!
Great tutu! I had ordered a medium, but it was so small I couldn't even get it on! I returned it a ordered a large it fit well it was just a little big. It fell down on me whenever I turned. But it did function well and I loved it! Would 10 out of 10 recommend!

AMAZING TUTU!
At first I was not totally sold on this tutu but it was suggested my my trusted teacher so I ordered it, needing a pracice tutu for Paquita. It is AMAZING I tell you I totally reccomend it. It shipped flat with no bumps or anything. It came in a clear bad that is pretty nice for awhile but still would suggest buying the Natalie tutu bag for long term. It is stiff and sticks flat out and feels so nice! Once again, 100 percent reccomend!

This is a nice practice tutu. I am 5'6" and 115 lbs, and the SM fit perfectly. Shipped flat (of course), it may have just a couple bumps and bruises to be flattened out when it arrives if it shifts during shipping. All in all, a great bargain.

VERY GOOD VALUE FOR PRACTICE TUTU
If you are looking for a simple practice pancake tutu, you can't beat the price on this. Is it as nice as one you'd pay $200 for? Not at all, but it is certainly a very good value at this price.
To address a few items from other reviews, my tutu was definitely white, not lavender. Based on the sizing chart, and some of the Q&As on this site, we should have bought the Child Large, but I wanted some grow room and went with Adult Small. This was a good idea, as it is actually a perfect fit.
My only complaint it wasn't packaged very well, so some edges are a bit crushed, but I should be able to steam them out.

THIS TUTU IS LAVENDER
Though beautiful and a nice fit, this Tutu is very Lavender. I clearly ordered WHITE but it is very definitely Lavender in every light. we will not be able to use this because of the odd color.
Will return immediately. Very disappointed.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE A SMALLER PERSON
I just got my tutu today, and there was a hole in it, also its wide at the hips and small at the waistband. I like the bag it comes in, but its to far out for my small size. NT GOOD FOR PAS
The wire hoop in this tutu bends very easily and distorts the shape. It would be okay for a variations class, but not for a partnering class. The tutu is more of a hindrance in pas class. The waste of the tutu is very loose and runs very large. The waist falls down easily, especially with partnered turns. All of the dancers in my pas class with this tutu dislike it and are looking for different options. Save yourself the money and buy something of better quality!

NT REALLY A TUTU...
I got this tutu for a variations class that started in a month. i didn't want to spoil the tutu before then, so i hung it upside down at my studio. I took it out for my class and the ends of the tutu hung completely down over the edge of the wire, and he wire just gets in the way. i wouldn't recommend this product for anyone. i returned this product and got the Sasha tutu, which i love and it stays in place, and its cheaper!

DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE PETIT!
I am a professional and ordered this as a rehearsal tutu. I am petit, but I can usually fit fine in a size small leotard (as opposed to xs or petit). Anyway the problem is not just that the waist band is small--the actual cercumference of the "basque" part around the hips is huge and will slide around when you turn or have any partnering.
So I thought, no problem, I can return it. The problem is that the unusual shape makes for extremely expensive return shipping. The heavy metal wire hoop makes it impossible to fold up into a compact size for shipping. Because discount dance supply will not pay for return shipping, I had no choice but to keep it. I do not dance with anyone large enough to fit into this tutu, so I can't even give it away.
To be fair, it is a beautiful tutu that looks well-constructed. But if you are small, you will be out a good bit of money if you order it :-(.

BEAUTIFUL TUTU, BUT HAS SOME FITTING FLAWS
I was a little hesitant to purchase this, because the other Natalie products I have are terrible quality. I bought two of their leotards this fall, and both have had unraveled seams which I've had to resew. However, I chose it because it looks better than the Sansha tutu.
Upon receipt, the skirt was bent in places, so I've flattened it out by placing heavy books on it. I'm a little disappointed the skirt is not tacked (it appears to be tacked from photos on DDS) but I can probably do that myself.
Fitting seems to be an issue. The bottom fits fine, but the top band is way too big, and there is only one hook and eye closure. I considered sending it back for a smaller size, but am afraid the bottom won't fit. I think I'll be taking it in instead, so the band does not slip down while I'm dancing.
The free bag that comes with it is cheap and awkward to carry. It would be better if it was stiffer, so the tutu didn't slide around in the bag.
All in all, it's a pretty tutu, but, in my opinion, I'll be avoiding Natalie products in the future. They fit oddly and are not the best quality.

VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY OF THIS
This is a fantastic quality for the price. Very professionally made.
My daughter wears a size 10 and the Child M/L tutu still has plenty of room for her to grow. The free bag was already ripped when we received the tutu so don't count on that lasting very long....you may want to order a better quality bag for the long run....We are so happy with the tutu that the poor quality bag really doesn't matter much! If you are interested in this product and it is in stock, order it! Ours was backordered for 6 weeks!

WAY TOO WIDE FOR A PETITE PERSON!
I ordered this for my 13 year old daughter who is 5'1'' and 95 lbs. in the adult small. It was huge on her! It was so big that she didn't even realize it was all hooked up before trying it on. Not only is the sizing way off #she normally wears an adult size small in leos#, but the actual circumference of the tutu skirt itself is extremely wide, much wider than all of the other tutu's in her Ballet Company's wardrobe. Maybe if she was tall, like 5'8" or taller, it would look okay, but definitely not on a petite person. It's way too overpowering.

Amazing! This tutu is perfect! I use it as a practice tutu but it is also stage ready. Also I love the clear bag that comes with it. It makes my life so much eaiser when I have to drag it in for rehursals. Also the tutu is perfectly flat. It's also a great gift, ask my best friend. You should definitely buy this tutu!!!

Bought for my daughter. Sturdy, tailored, clean looking. Instructors liked very much. Stiff pleating very nice. As for sizing, we chose a small. When hooked in, tutu runs a little big but if we took it in, then she might have a harder time getting the tutu up over her bottom. So we just pinned instead. Bought an additional tutu bag but it was such a nice surprise to get a white lightweight bag with the tutu also. Very nice and great for pas de deux classes. Very happy with purchase!

I just got this in the mail and it's amazing!! Not only is it very affortable but it really looks professional. It fit perfect, looked perfect, and is even better than I expected. Just as good as a $300 dollar one!! The hoop can sort of be seen through the white but barely and only in certain lighting. Beautiful!

LOVELY TUTU+ EXCELLENT BARGAIN!
This tutu is simply lovely. Arrives in a plastic tutu bag with handles. Sizing is spot on. What a bargain! This tutu has the feel of a real Russian style practice tutu. Lightweight, non-restrictive. I would highly recommend this tutu!
