Can someone explain the difference between this waistbandself knit waistband?
I want a tight where the waist band is not just a piece of elastic sewn on top.
An example would be 1916 Knit Waistband style of Capezio. Features a flattering and comfortable wide elastic-free self-knit waistband.
The 1816 Capezio has a 1" plush elastic waistband, and dyed-to-match gusset.

Do these tights have a seam down the back of the leg? My daughter needs a pair that has the seam in the back.
These tights do not have a seam. You may want to consider style #'s 9, A46, or AM1012 which are all seamed convertible tights. - DDS Customer Service (01/31/2018)
Kyla 02/08/2014 Age: 17 or under What color would be best for ballet?
I have heard that one of the colors is an akward bright pink and the other a normal ballet tight pink, which one is which? (I would like the normal pink color)
The regular pink, not the ballet pink - Cadabby (02/18/2014)
yes that is true - you want the ballet pink - Kaceykat (04/24/2014)
Hello Kyla, I am not sure if you have ordered the tights yet, but I just received mine in the ballet pink and I really like the color. It is a pink with a touch of salmon to it, as opposed to a light hot pink which would lean more to the blue side. These Ballet pink tights are beautiful, soft and warm colored. I really like them. - Missdebra (05/07/2014)
For ballet I would go with the ballet pink. Its a normal soft pink rather the bright pink is not a good choice. - Glittz (06/09/2014)
I suggest "Ballet Pink" over "Light Pink" for ballet. - Lovediscountdance (12/29/2014)
I'm pretty sure the awkward bright pink is the ballet pink, and the normal one is the light pink.
I accidentally bought three pairs of the bright pink and I didn't realize until I got to the studio and opened a pack. They're embarrassingly bright. - Emmaleedu (01/14/2015)
What is the difference between the suntan and caramel colors?
I am looking for a pair that does not have pink or red undertones, but more olive or neutral.
Both Suntan and Caramel have red undertones. I would recommend this style in the Light Toast color, which does have more of a neutral undertone. - DDS Customer Service (01/03/2014)
what about natural? i think suntan might be more saturated than you are looking for? - Okaykatie (01/31/2014)
Suntan is a little orange rather than the caramel is brown. The natural is kind of nice. - Glittz (06/09/2014)
body wrappers total strech tights are one of my favories and they do not have a pink or red undertone - Capezioislive (04/09/2015)
Lisa 09/25/2013 Age: 25 to 34 What color tights should I purchase for a dance team?
I am ordering tights for a dance team and they all need the same color. Most of them have olive skin tone, but I have a few who are very pale. I originally thought to get Natural, but I've heard that the color is a lot lighter in person than on the website.
Should we do light suntan?
Light suntan would be a good color for a group since it is in between a nude and suntan. - DDS Customer Service (09/26/2013)
Crissy Renae 08/15/2013 Age: 25 to 34 I'm just looking for tights that will look natural on my legs, I want to get the right color that ma
I'm a black African American and I think my skin would be close to carmel. What do you think
Unfortunately skin tones vary even with ethnicities. We do have the color swatches pictured under the main image of the tights so that you can make the best comparison. If you are unsure about the exact color I might purchase two different shades and send back the one that is a lesser match. Tights are returnable only if they have been unopened (you will be able to see the color of the tight in a view window when you received them). - DDS Customer Service (08/15/2013)
The caramel lives up to its name. It is exactly its color. Depending on the darkness of your skin would determine if you need a darker shade. - Mcballerina (09/30/2013)
I would try the Suntan because that is what I wear and my skin is probably the color of yours, caramel. - Missdebra (05/07/2014)
My daughter is 8 years old and very tall for her age. What age group does the adult sm/m fit
For accurate sizing, based off of height and weight, please see the size chart for style #1816. The size chart can be seen under "alternate views" (pictured underneath the tights main image). You can also see it by going here > http://image.discountdance.net/image/560x600/1816_inset4.jpg - DDS Customer Service (05/17/2013)
5 feet 130 pounds go up a size. - Balletdiva (06/30/2013)
I would not recomend getting her the adult small. I am 5,1 and the tights go to the top of my rib cage. - Mcballerina (09/30/2013)
12+
It will be too big for her, I use the adult sm/m it is still long for me. - Talya (11/24/2013)
Do you sell any tan dance tights because i need them for a jazz class
Most of our tights will come in versions of tan, such as "light suntan", "suntan", or "dark suntan". If you need a tight that comes in the exact color "TAN", I would suggest style #T0920, #T0938L, or #T0996. - DDS Customer Service (04/30/2013)
They come in four tan colors look at the color chart. - Balletdiva (06/30/2013)
I only own ballet pink, but I believe they have tan. - Natashia (09/11/2013)
They have every color you can imagine. - Glittz (06/09/2014)
I am 5'8" and 125lbs. The mediums just feel too tight on me. The L/XL is best for me. - Pearls (04/03/2013)
you just look at the picture of the box and find your height and weight and then it says what size to get - Balletgirly (06/24/2013)
Read the size chart! - Balletdiva (06/30/2013)
The sizing chart is pretty accurate. If you are still skeptical you can go to a local dance shop and try on a pair of tights - Mcballerina (09/30/2013)
I dance on pointe without a toepad. Seams on the toes sometimes slip and rub very uncomfortably. Recommendations on tights without seams on the toes would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!
Style 1873 is a convertible tight withough toe seams. - DDS Customer Service (03/11/2013)
Most seamed tights don't have seams at the toes. - Balletdiva (06/30/2013)
Capezio or Bodywrappers? 12/30/2012 Florida, Usa Age: 17 or under Which brand is better?
Which brand is more comfortable, durable, etc.? I've heard that capezio has an uncomfortable waistband and that Bodywrappers get runs easily. I really can't decide. Please help!!
You may want to trya style tight that has a knitted waistband, like the Capezio 1873, Mondor 319 and 316. - DDS Customer Service (01/03/2013)
Capezio recently changed their waistbands to a reinforced one, which is much more comfy than the one they used to have. The Capezio tights that I have had for almost 2 years has not run at all. The Capezio definitely beats in durablility and comfort. I have not had much experience with Bodywrappers, becuase everyone at my dance studio wears Capezio. I would strongly recommend Capezio. - Omlet (01/12/2013)
I would go with the Capezios. I love Capezio tights as well as shoes, and I think they're the only brand of tights I've ever used. Mine last years as long as I don't grow too much. I don't think Capezio has an uncomfortable waistband, but others may think differently. There are so many different types of Capezio tights, including stretch ones and low rise waist ones, so I think you should just look for a tight that you would like. Also, for me, once I'm dancing, no matter how tight they are, the tights loosen up a bit around the waist. - Thephantomizzy (01/20/2013)
Personally, I like Capezio better. I've been dancing for 8 years, so I've had time to try both. I would say that the waistbands are the same and equally visible, but Capezio tights are softer and more comfortable. - Balletsupremacist (02/08/2013)
I would reccomend buying Capezio because if you buy these and you feel comfortable around the legs but not the waist you can roll it down but it doesn't bother me. Also, these Capezio thights are very durable mine didn't rip untill about the 6th month of having these. I totally reccomend these!! - Zoeballetshoes (03/30/2013)
I like Capezio and Bloch tights the best! - Balletdiva (06/30/2013)
I like Capezio much better they last longer, and are good for long legs. - Balletdiva (01/26/2014)
