For the SM the top of the pad is 10" in diameter and tapers to 9" diameter at the bottom below the knee. The length of the SM pad is 10 1/2". There are stretchy so you have some give as far as size goes. I'm an adult dancer with fairly large calf and thigh muscles. The large fits me great. I would say if you are a younger dancer with thinner legs, def go for the small. - Kdance86 (06/07/2014)
